 "Don't get too Emotional over anything that is material. Strive for comfort - not the extreme. Take care of the essentials - and be Honest about what they should be."

I find this difficult to contemplate.  Ive always been taught to be financially independant...to save save save so i could look after myself.  Financial analysts are telling me that there wont be any pensions by the time i retire so i need that much more in savings to live on for retirement.  So ok, you probably didnt need all that commentary but i think you see my point, if you dont look after yourself...who will.
How do you equate "taking care of essentials" with the very real need to save for an unknown future?

Cmom- the words are straight-forward.  Be honest about what "essentials" should be.  The more materialism you want out of this Life - the more you have to build your ability to influence events and control your energy.  You're talking about a material future you have an input into, if you utilize personal power.

But sometimes your Spirit places you in situations to learn a specific ethic or precept about humility, or compassion, or the value of failure - and it ain't soft or pretty or cozy.    Sometimes, regardless of what your intellect might want, your spirit is taking you somewhere your comfort level don't want to go.  You can ignore this statement - but it won't go away gently, baby.

you're placing more importance on the material comfort of this life - than the spiritual balance and achievement of the next.  If that is your preference - that is fine.  It is not mine.  So, I don't say to myself- go out and be a millionaire...not because I can't be one, but because I don't want to be one.

No - I'm not presently in poverty ...but i have been;

I'm not down-and-out ...but I have been.....

I'm not unbalanced ...but I have been..............and with each of these experiences and situations, I took the action to change my surroundings and influences to MAKE a Different Life-style for myself  - using the very same tools I talk about here in the SLC texts.

It wasn't easy, and it didn't happen overnight.  But I'm no rocket scientist - I'm no more a saint nor creative genius nor more/less brainiac than any of you reading this...I simply committed myself to succeeding more than failing, using ALL my tools and faculites, and using the power of Spirit we all have available.

My point remains prima facia- if your most important goal is material comfort, you ain't preparing for where you're gonna spend your "time"  - after you die.  If you want alot of materialism in life - you better build a great protocol to get it, because it is not going to float down to you on a pink saffron cloud.  You had better learn the value of positive focusing - and goal achievement - and get rid of every possible negative energy around you or in you... Repeat - GET RID OF NEGATIVE ENERGY IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY.

Did i make that clear enuf?

unless of course your goal is to build negative energy at the expense of others  ...but you will still need to build the tools of Focus in order to achieve any success at thought-into-action, regardless what your goals are.

we all get old; we all get sick - and WE DIE.   It's part of the scheme we live thru.  It's gonna happen to you, to me - to all of us.  It may be nice and soft, if you have money - or it may be rude and ugly, even if you have a million bucks.  If you grasp the importance of balance - you will place yourself in the situation best suited for your spirit - and your daily life will reflect this in all the small and large ways....

there has never been more ways to "earn a living", then there are right now in today's society.  Part of using your spiritual energy to make your living environment more reflective of your goals is to grasp this realization - and ACT on it - rejecting all negative energies designed to trip you and make you fail.  You must read this - and make it PERSONAL - (not paraphrase it - but personalize it.)

If you have education and training and skills of any kind --- look where you can put them to use - based on your etiquette (your heroic plan for this life).  Look HARD - and in every possible nook and cranny.   Think "outside" the box - don't let people tell you "you can't do this" or "you cant do that" ---- you'll find out if you can do anything at all, once you make an honest attempt.   Half-ass attempts are worth as much toilet paper as it takes to wipe them off your pants seat...if you value your ability to "earn a living" - then ACT like it have value.  If you want only a small earning wage - then think/act/look/feel/move like your goal.

If you don't belive in your ability to achieve even your "small" goals - why do you think anyone else will believe in you?

Even the most evil people I've ever met have been motivated by some goal to the extent they can utilize some aspect of Personal Power to achieve it.  It's not easy to be Seriously Evil, yu know; it takes alot of detachment and flat-out unconscionable effort to be loathsome and infamous.  I'm not talking about run-of-the-mill criminal minds, I'm talking serial killers and monsterous folks here.  Even for these folks --- to be successful in their deeds, they need more than luck and the base urge...they need Intent and Focus to stay committed to their acts of defilement.

so it works both ways.  You have to pay the Piper if you want to dance to the tune.  Ya want a Comfort Zone in the Garden of Eden?  Cool.  Ya got to build your living space, baby.

Simple as that.
