Hi Ladies I just wanted to ask for your advice. As you know I am doing a charity run in December dressed as Santa - as you do LOL. Anyway can anyone give me any ideas as to how I can get more people to sponsor me so far its all been my lovely pals here, one other friend and my brother - I don't know if the doing it online is putting people off or if I should try and work out a way for people to just hand me the money but then I don't have an official sponsor form or anything .............. as only one person sponsored me through an email I sent out. I have put a poster in my local shop with the web address on it and put a note up in my Bebo blog............. I just have no experience in Fund Raising through Sponsors apart from through schools etc. Any ideas gratefully received. Here is the web site, any ideas on jazzing that up even ?? Love Nova xxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

I'm not sure if Choles school will have one but at my girls school they have a P.I.O (parenteal involement officer) the one we have is really nice so maybe it might be worth a shot mentioning it to them they maybe able to drum up some support in school even if only in the staff room, or even hand some small flyers out at the school gates to the mums????? Love Always xxxx |

I normally hound eveyone at work, and get barry to do the same Jean..... I'll admit that if anyone asks me for sponsorship, i generally give them cash rather than do the online thing, with a note saying they can claim the giftaid back and my postcode..... At kayleighs school, the kids go round with bucket at breaktime collecting change after the children have had lunch.....would Chloe be allowed to do something like that for you? (Especially if she was doing it with you???) Love Erika xx |

Hi Nova I have sponsored you now, sorry I missed it before! I can only suggest that perhaps you print off your page and use it as a poster in the locality or at work or friends workplaces. Perhaps you could also put a strap line on all your e-mails a bit like mine come up with a sales pitch for a book on being an author. Good luck to you, it's great to do these things, I did the race for life one year, now I just send a monthly donation but the exilharation even though we did the event in torrential rain, was fantastic. love and light Linda xx |

Thank you so much Linda that was really kind of you, thank you for your ideas too. I did get an email from the Wild Day Out team last night offering me offline sponsor forms so hopefully I can get some more that way. I promise to post up piccies if anyone is with me on the day to take them . Love Nova xxxxxxxxxxx |

Will your local grocery store or department store let people in to do fundraising?? My Women's Institute group just went to Wal-Mart and set up a table to sell cookbooks we made. It was great. Maybe you could call your stores and see if you could set up a table and have your sponsor sheets there. Have some literature about the group you're fundraising for. Make a big sign that says "Help Santa Jean finish the race" or something like that. Good luck with it all Jean. What a lovely thing you are doing. Hugs, Wheezie |
