As I sit in the hot sunshine, with memories  that are golden,

just wandering where those years went, the things I did I shouldn't.

washing nappies,cleaning house,arguements and battles,

washing dishes picking up toys, dolls and cars and rattles.

lots of good times, sometimes bad, lots of laughter, feeling sad,

where did all that time go?,I question to myself.

I have tasted poverty, but also tasted wealth.

money can't buy you happiness,I know its often said,

but you can't buy no happiness,if you'v got no bread.

wandering what the future holds, what do we do now,

leave the past there in the past, move along somehow.

move along to pastures new.try not to look back,

tread a path of richeousness, and keep right on that track.

its no good feeling miserable, cause what has gone has  gone,

now look to the future, sing a happy song.

the world is now your oyster, for things you'd like to do,

all the time now in the world, for a brand new you.

Brandy, I started to read your poem and it suddenly dawned on me that my eldest sister had a conversation last night concerning just that!  Would you mind if I sent her it darlin'?  She has been carrying baggage around for over 40 years which has made her very bitter.  This would certainly make her sit up and think!
