As I cast my eyes up to the sky,
my mind floats in a trance.
A stairway to the clouds I climb,
my feet they start to dance.
onwards,upwards in a daze,
forward to the light,
a stairway up to heaven,
floating out of sight.
A peaceful place does greet me,
calm and so serene,
I'v never been to such a place,
as if I'm in a dream.
A feeling of security,
as I walk each cloud.
people I once lost,
surrround me,like a shroud.
They stand there at my side,
a reassuring glance,
how beautiful this place,
my mind still in a trance.
reality takes over,
my ears engolfed in sound.
the peacefulness is shattered,
my thoughts back on the ground.
back into my body,
back from heavens gate,
its not my time to go yet.
eternity will wait.
Until that day does come,
these paths of life I tread.
that final journey we all take,
I now no longer dread.
