Hello..... Here's a thread for keeping all the questions and answers together about how to do the sigs on here.

It's a new process for me too... so we'll figure it all out together.. and make changes along the way when we find a better way to do things..

i am a tad confused as i have never done this before, i just made a couple to give to friends, is this where i put who wants one, on the same reply as i just did? cause i put three, i thought here this morning, now i can't find them, have they gone in outer space? i think msn likes my messages lol, i can't remember if i checked if they were in place.

Hi Jeni..... I've never done this before either... so we'll work it all out as we go along, and see what works best for everyone over time.

We can make any kind of changes we need to, at any time... about what gets posted where.

For Now... this is how I'm thinking we can do this.

Ya'll let me know if you want it done a different way, or if you see a better way to do it.

I want to try to see if we can do this all on one board.... if not... I'll make separate boards if needed. Lets see how this works for now.

I see 3 kinds of needs about sigs.

1. Sigs that are gifts, and already made with the members names... complete and ready to be picked up.

My suggestion is to go to the Siggy Piggy board, and each time you make a new gift announcement,

start a New Discussion thread,... title it with something easy like... "Jeni's Siggy Gifts #2".... or maybe, "Siggy Gifts from Jeni...12/3" ... or something like that...

Make the title of the discussion thread something that will help you remember where you placed certain gifts you made... for your own record keeping... whatever works best for the creator making the gifts.

The other members would then know to look on that thread and see what is posted there all ready for them to pick up.

Does that sound ok?

2. Sigs a creator makes that are wwo offers and asks who wants one, on the wwo board

Not everyone may want all kinds that are offered.

I know over the years I've seen quite a few offers that were very pretty and very nice... but just not to my personal taste, or that for some other reason I probably would not use in my messages

Start each separate and new wwo offer... in a New Discussion thread titled for example with something like..... "WWO offer - Dec 3".... or whatever way you want to label the offers.

After the person who posted the offer makes these particular wwo sigs, they are then posted on the individual person's named pick up thread on the siggy board... that I have already created for each of us.

When they have picked up their completed sig.... post a message on that same thread saying they have picked it up.

Does that sound like a good way to do it? Let me know.

3. Sigs that someone requests to be made for them.

For now... we don't even have to do this kind.... I'll leave that up to those who do the creating.

These are the ones that a person sees somewhere here on the board and likes it... and wants one too, and needs to ask someone to make it for them, or get someone to ask the origional creator to make one, if it came from someone on another group somewhere.

If someone wants to make a request...

...just come to the Siggy Piggy board... and start a New Discussion.... "siggy request please"... or any wording wording along those lines.

If it's for a certain person, state that person's name, for example.. "Jeni... siggy request please".... then they will know who it is for.

All things will be then posted on that same one message thread... replies, drop offs, and pick up, and thank yous.

Did I say that clearly enough? If not, let me know.

My only rule in all of this is that all siggy creators are free to say "no"... for any reason.

Making siggies is to be a "do it if you feel like it, or want to" type of thing... and not a requirement.

I've seen several places over the years that siggy makers just got burned out because it became such "work", and was no longer just a fun pass-time. And that's what I want to avoid happening here. Siggies are great fun.... but when it's no longer fun, or a creater just is not in the mood to make them.... please say so freely.

Let me know if this explanation helps.... or if you have other better ideas... please let me know that too. Whatever is easiest for the creator/gift giver.... Hugs, Grace

thanks grace,i printed it out so i can refer to it when needed, and right now our group is not to big, so i know if i mess up i will be forgiven, and also like you said everyone is not going to like everything i put in here as you will see i do have weird taste, lol. now one more question n while i am here i might as well ask,

the ones like you, rosie, n toosh picked up, do i delete them,and do i delete the whole thread when everyone has picked up,

and how long do you think,i should let a (who wants one) thread run until i delete. my goodness more then one question, huh?

right now i am trying to figure out how to organize my folder, i am afraid i am going to forget which funt i used, or which setting, no way i can get the exact color,so hang in there with me,

Hi Jeni.... I had to come back on-line to pay a bill.... so I'm glad I am here to answer this.

I'm sure we will like everything you make..

... but just may not want to save it for a personal collection. For me, my sigs are kind of like what I do with Christmas decorations... color-coded, certain styles and themes etc...sigs are like Christmas decorations...lots to choose from, but I don't buy everything.

I think all sigs are great and I do admire all work.

.. even the weird ones.

..lol. I like pop art.

..and all kinds of art..

.. I like anything that does not lean towards being evil or something like that. I look forward to seeing your work.

After a sig you posted has been saved... if you need to delete it to free up storage space... go right ahead and do it whenever you want to or need to.

Deleteing things etc... is another thing I will not be making an issue of here... so above all... relax and enjoy yourself.

Sometimes just to clean something up, I may delete the whole thread if everything is finished...

or I can go ahead and just leave everything on there all the time... and it can serve as a kind of record-keeping system for you.. of what you offered, and when. You could even add a written description of your wwo offers... so that when you delete the sig itself.. the words will still be there for you to remember what it was...

On other groups I've seen offers for a variety of set times... a day... weekend,... a few days...a whole week.... it all depends on your own schedule and energy and time available to make them.

There is no right or wrong way or answer.... set the offer closing for whatever is best for you. With only a few of us here... and all of us busy... there will not be any rush or pressure at all about you finishing them.

Organizing the folders you use to store them on your computer is a great idea..

. and I have no idea about that at all.

Maybe you could ask someone else who makes sigs how they organize the information etc.

I wouldn't worry about color matching..

.. some of the best things in a store say that no two will look exactly alike due to natural fiber variations etc.

It can be that way with your sigs... one of a kind collectors items..

There's always an answer for everything.

LOL... just be sure and take notes on what you learn... then when I find time to do it sometime in the months ahead after we move, you can help me... because I will surely need it.

Waiting for Robin to get in from work and we are going out to eat... too tired to cook the chicken.. and it's so nice he's so understanding and agreeable.
