View A Pending Member's MSN Profile

When an applicant applies to join a private MSN Group, the management team receives a copy of the application, or it can be viewed from the Manager Tools->Manage the Member List->Pending Members.

This application includes the user's MSN Nickname and should included an email address. Although the email address can be faked, often both these bits of data can help in the decision to approve or deny the applicant.

To view a pending members MSN profile (if they have one), open a new browser window and type in the following URL:

For hotmail/MSN email/third party email addresses:
http://members.msn.com/ + applicant's email address.

Example: http://members.msn.com/someone@hotmail.com

For yahoo email addresses:
http://profiles.yahoo.com/ + applicant's email address

Example:
http://profiles.yahoo.com/someone@yahoo.com

Use the MSN Member Directory - Advanced Search to locate their MSN Nickname or other details known.

Use www.google.com to investigate either their MSN Nickname or the email address offered.

---

Please note: there is no such thing as the following email sites: @Yahoo.com, @Hotmail.com, @Msn.com.

If the applicant has used one of these, it's a fake. The capital letter is not used in the domain name of the real webmail sites. They may have an honest reason for using a false address but the @Yahoo.com version has been used by spambots for quite some time.
