Today I went to see my doctor, and it seems I have bronchitis............along with thousands more people in this country, I think it is yet another bug doing the rounds. Even my own doctor has had it!! He gave me the same antibiotics he had, and he said that the chest infection will stop, but the coughing will continue for a while, but will be coughing, not "couching up your lungs" coughing. Yesterday I felt really ill, probably the lowest I have felt since I got back from Scotland, and it is said that one has to get worse before one can get better, well, I think that was my turning point because today, my wheezing has gone, and I felt a lot better, even before going to the doctor. He said he could hear no wheezing, but he tested my lungs and they are 97%, which is good - he showed me that his were 97% too. Anyay, I am no longer contagious, which was good because I had Hayden and Barbara popping round at lunchtime and I so desperately wanted to be able to cuddle Hayden. Just as well because as soon as he saw me, he reached out for me, and when I held him, he headbutted me, pulled my hair and bit my face - LOL - he loves me  Once inside the house, Barbara said "watch this Mum" and she took Hayden's two hands and he stood up, and then, holding his hands, she walked backwards and he took 5 steps, still being held by the hand - before he decided to dance..................he hears music and he dances and sings!!. When he walks around the furniture, you have to be with him because he will cross his little feet and then forget how to uncross them, so funny. Today (Christmas Day here) Hayden will be 8 months old - I cannot believe how quickly this time has passed!!! Anyway, I am off to bed, I have to get up tomorrow early to get the turkey into the oven to cook it for dinner. Night night everyone, I will try to get in to say good morning at least, tomorrow and Boxing Day, but will be busy for the rest of the day in each case. |

Actually LJ - it does seem to work, as I said, on the dry tickly cough, I have known about this for a couple of more years or so now..............and yes, my feet do smell at this time of the year - they smell of Vic Vapour Rub LOL...............oddly enough, I have never had a runny nose, even after a vindaloo!! JB - I am not sticking my head up your backside, cough or no cough  Jecakias - oxo cubes are stock cubes, various flavours but the ones to drink are the beef ones, they are akin to drinking beef tea. Actually, I smuggled some of those into the States without realising it one year when I went out to see my sister, Jenny - she asked me to bring some - we make gravy with them you see, and when I got my little green ticket onboard asking what I was bringing into the country, one of the things not allowed are meat products..................so I didn't declare the oxo cubes. You crumble them into boiling water and use them to make gravy, or, drink.......... |

If we get a mad cow outbreak in this country I'll know where it came from. Jenny can get those in this country. All the grocers have them, I think they call them boulion cubes here. |

They do LJ, and I have in fact tried them, as has my sister, which is why she insists I send her oxo cubes LOL.................you would have to taste oxo cubes to understand why we prefer them................and why we prefer our gravy made with them |

Ah heck, I just read backwards thru the posts, (leave it to me to go backwards) and realize what "oxo cubes" are. LOL Boullion cubes! I have those, and even the beef ones. So maybe I can get well quicker now? |

We were brought up drinking Oxo cubes when we were not too well - like beef tea Lesley, and our gravy was always made with Oxo, never Bisto because Mum preferred oxo, so we did too LOL.....and what is a casserole or stew without an oxo?  Just don't rub those onto the soles of your feet Lesley. NancyNC - I am so sorry you caught your bronchitis from me and I was so careful to use dettol to wash the message before sending it!!! Hope you get better soon, and drinking oxo definitely does help, if only to make you feel like you have eaten something when you don't feel like eating!! As for Robert rubbing your chest, yes, he does use his tongue, which was fine for the first 27 times I let him do it, but it was getting a little embarrassing trying to shop in the supermarket...............so a quick tip............rub the Vic on first and his tongue will go numb and he will stop By the way, my bronchitis turned into flu, not sure if it was supposed to, but for the last two days I have felt like death warmed up...............feel a bit better today, hence the posts again. |

Don't do it Nancy, Johnboy loves the taste of Vick's. He's barred from the local drug store and wal-mart for going to the "cold" dept. with a spoon, But then, being nekked may have had something to do with that also. |
