when you left, rain

i got down on my hands and knees;
i scrubbed the sky for you.

i saw some cloudy streaks
where i could not reach;

a vee of birds flocked
over, trailing those corners -
for me, for you.

when i finished the day,
every plane glinted with orange
light.

when you left,
rain.

Loved it though I would have imagined something more flowing, thanks,

Maat.

thanks for listening, maat.

that's why you have to read the pauses in a poem as well.
the commas, the semi-colons, the hyphens, the periods,
the stanza breaks & the end stops.

breaks the flow -- perhaps -- or just slows it down..

but hey!  i can always record it differently. ;)
