The Common Good

What if we know our way?
What if our respect for geese
is really just a kindredness
for some device that guides?

I assemble with your minds.
I am of your flock,
born to take the point south until my wings give out.

When tired,
I will let someone else have the lead.
Not because I failed the blue.
But urged by the love on either side of me,
to consider the common good.
