| I created this thread to keep "global warming" posts from becoming too numerous on this site. This subject is basically one of judgment, because it cannot be invalidated by the scientific method. In such situations, I am one to err on the side of caution, but seeing how so few others seem think along the same lines, I've essentially "given up" on this. I think people will have to see the devastation their actions cause before there will be the "political will" necessary to stop environmental destruction that is irreversible or will take decades or centuries to reverse. However, I don't mind reading the opinions of those who have devoted a lot of time to this issue, and in general, I believe that flawed arguments only become more tenuous apologists are given "plenty of room to hang themselves" with their own words. Censorship only serves to attract a lot of people to "bad" arguments. |

It turns out that O2 has the exact same spectral absorption properties that O3 has in the UV spectrum. It is mostly O2 that is absorbing UV, not O3.

It’s an interesting premise. Let’s examine this acorn more closely.
Ozone is an unstable molecule formed when free oxygen atoms are released in an oxygen-rich atmosphere. That fresh smell following a thunderstorm is the ozone created by the electric bolts we call lightning. O3 �?ozone �?is a molecule consisting of three oxygen atoms, unlike O2 �?oxygen �?which consists of two oxygen atoms. Free oxygen atoms cannot exist by themselves. They immediately combine to form O2, oxygen. When free atoms of oxygen are released in an oxygen atmosphere, one of two things happens: they either combine with each other to form more O2, or they combine with O2 to form O3 �?ozone. Because ozone is naturally unstable, over time it will decay, losing one of the oxygen atoms. The free oxygen atoms so formed combine with themselves to form O2.

The Arctic Ice Is Not Cooperating

Environmentalists have been warning us for months about big chucks of ice that were going to break off, raising the sea level worldwide, ocean temperatures would changes, storms would intensify, and we will all be dead before the release of An Inconvenient Truth II.
Just a few weeks ago, predictions of Arctic ice collapse were buzzing all over the internet. Some scientists were predicting that the “North Pole may be ice-free for first time this summer�? Others predicted that the entire “polar ice cap would disappear this summer�?
One problem: arctic ice doesn’t listen to environmentalists.
The Arctic melt season is nearly done for this year. The sun is now very low above the horizon and will set for the winter at the North Pole in five weeks. And none of these dire predictions have come to pass.
Data and models are only as good as the info inputted.
Anyone who feels morally free to scare little kids with pictures of drowning polar bears that weren’t, would have no problems basing their dire predictions on fudged data.
When the facts get in the way of truth, fear is the environmentalist weapon of choice.

This is yet another example of how Man Made Global Warming lying Propaganda is being used to drive the cost of energy through the roof and turn America into another 3rd world country.
Inspite of the fact that water vapor is 270 times the greenhouse gas that CO2 is based on having more spectral absoption bands and higher concentration, and is also 100 times the concentration in our atmosphere than what CO2 is. And if you look at Man made CO2 contribution it is even smaller as this pie chart shows. This pie chart shows all of the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Our atmosphere only contains 4% green house gases and water vapor is clearly the most domenant...
