Holes with Sigourney Weaver and Jon Voigt is a wonderful movie for Tweens and their families.  Good acting, fun story, realistic interactions between characters, and good message.  Based on the excellent book.

 

I would NOT recommend it for the little kids (under-10) crowd unless they are savvy kids and you watch with them.  It is realistic enough that the frightening and creepy-scary scenes where kids are the targets of the bad guys might be too much.
