What kind of psychopathic nutball schizo diagnosis was THAT? Geeez. These people see one episode of Fraizer, and they think they are psychotherapists. |

There have been twice as many people spouting psychobabble since Dr. Phil started. |

Do you think a pet psychologist interviewd the abused dogs in order to come to the conclusion that some dogs secretly wanted to be abused? And is the person who wrote the post comparing women to dogs? |

I don't know. That's a good point. I think I'll read it again. He said to think about it. |

The thought tha a dog would want to be abused is too ridiculous to contemplate. I have worked the phones in battered women's shelters and I am familiar with woment who refuse to leave their abusers, but there are several basic reasons. |

Why women don't leave their abusers - Jan*Tanner - 1/3/2004 - 1:53:17 AM |
Why women don't leave their abusers? FEAR! plain and simple. They are so used to being controlled by these people that they are afraid of them. They fear they will be punished if they try and leave and they are so beat down emotionally and mentally that they don't know if they could survive without them. |

Yep, fear is the most basic. They are frequently kept uneducated, unskilled and unemployed. Without money, if is very very difficult for them to leave and having kids, which almost all of them have, makes it ten times harder. I have talked to women that were beaten by their common-law husbands, gotten the guy arrested and then ran to their mom's and neighbor's to borrow enough money to bond the creep out of jail the same night! |

It's a co-dependent cycle. |

Yep. It was always amazing to me how easily the saddists were able to find and hook-up with the masochists. They don't even have their own bars yet, but they STILL find each other. |

Oops - Blind Lemon Pledge - 1/3/2004 - 1:53:17 AM |
that should be sadists. |
