If you ever have the chance to get to DC, you need to go by the WWII Memorial. It was well worth the visit...

This was supposed to be part of the original message (and the second one too!), but MSN doesn't like those of us who use Linux
Switched to Windows to post the pic...

someday i'll be able to visit the memorial. it looks breathtaking. thanks for sharing the picture.

i work on a xp box at work and i am always finding myself hitting the stupid windows button next to the spacebar thinking it's the command key. then the start menu interrupts me. ARGH pcs.... more trouble then they're worth. ;o)

Ron, thanks for posting the photo. We were there for the Opening Ceremonies in May and it was definitely moving to meet and talk with WWII vets and learn of their experiences.  The memorial itself reminds me of some of the WWII memorials in Europe.

The USPS has a stamp.  The official WWII Memorial website: http://www.wwiimemorial.com/

Tribute to a Generation, National World War II Reunion
http://www.folklife.si.edu/CFCH/WWII/WorldWarII.htm

Tribute to a Generation is sponsored by the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and National Culture. The Veteran's History Project in particular is where you can 'Tell Your Story,' 'See and Hear World War II stories' and access the 'Experiencing War' home page to view more stories. After exploring the different resources, you'll see that this generation of soldiers is certainly due a tribute!
