Webmaster, Braille Institute, Los Angeles, CA

Braille Institute, the leading regional nonprofit serving blind and visually impaired people is looking for a webmaster to maintain its websites and assist the Communications Department with publications and desktop publishing. The ideal candidate should have 2-5 years experience, be proactive, a team player and have good people and communications skills.

The webmaster is responsible for daily maintenance of Braille Institute’s web sites�?content and functionality, coordinating with IT to ensure sites are fully operational and accessible. Must have a good working knowledge of templates, html and I-frames, basic Javascript, Fireworks MX, Dreamweaver MX and Flash.

- Develops new sections and retool existing interfaces. Analyzes reports on demographics and volume of site visitors. Analyzes sites�?prominence within the Web and how easily they are found through searches.  Acts as liaison to search engines and other site webmasters to ensure Braille Institute’s site is fully represented where appropriate.
- Acts as traffic manager for any paid web advertising and analyzes effectiveness.
- Develops and implements Internet campaigns that may include live chats, instructional modules or promotions that help drive traffic to the site.
-  Coordinates e-mail responses and generates reports on e-mail and fulfillment volume and content.
- Researches, perform interviews, writes copy for web sites and as well as for articles in print publications and art directs photo shoots.
- Assists with desktop publishing needs. Must have working knowledge of QuarkXPress or InDesign and knowledge of both PC and Mac platforms.

As I recall, they wanted someone to work on premises. I think that this position was filled, but you could check their website.
