Manager of Network Services
    Reports to the Director of Information Systems.

Summary - Hands-on working manager responsible for the daily technology functions related to Network Services.  This division is responsible for the LAN/WAN and related services such as computer room environmentals, system architecture and requirements, system capacity planning and performance, back-up and recovery, infrastructure security, asset management and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

    Overall responsibility to establish and enforce best practices in engineering for aspects such as change control, service call procedures and escalation and scheduled maintenance tasks

    Provide leadership, supervision, encourage professional development and mentoring to the Network Services staff encompassing 5-6 direct reports

    Responsible for work flow; identify, assign and monitor projects

    Manage issues related to employee compensation time, maintain adequate levels of personnel for required department activities, handle corrective action as needed

    Hire personnel and conduct performance evaluations in conjunction with the Director of IS

    Monitor and refine performance goals

    Conduct skills analysis and Identify team training needs

    Assist with budget development and operate areas of responsibility within approved budget

    Evaluate system architecture needs and make recommendations

    Identify and schedule maintenance tasks

    Perform analysis, diagnoses and resolution of complex system-related issues when escalated to management level

    Manage and/or retire server-class computing assets

    Research and make recommendations related to new technology and hardware products to support the business goals.

    Remain current on emerging technologies
Professional Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or relevant technical certifications
    Minimum 2 years experience managing a technical staff
    6 - 8 years in a technical position with experience in a multi-site environment with over 50 servers
    Excellent interpersonal communication
    Experience creating technical documentation and reports
    Ability to present educational sessions to department members
    Good organizational and analytical skills
    Ability to make decisions independently and exercise good judgment under pressure
    Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects

Skills:

    Working knowledge of network routing and switching products and protocols
    Experience in network topologies, protocols and operating systems
    Two - three years working with Active Directory design, configuration, administration and troubleshooting
    Thorough understanding of DHCP, DNS and File Replication Services
    Exchange 2000 0r 2003 and SMS 2003 experience a plus
    Experience in Data Center design and environmentals
