I started in October 1999 as a stocker in dept 4/13. I was a temporary until New Years Eve, then started again in February of 2000 as a sales associate in garden center. In October of that year, I went to Electronics for a year. Then I was a CSM for a year, and I've been the lead CSM for about three years. It's challenging, but it's wonderful watching the results of a well pulled-together team. I plan to stay here for about another year and a half, and then want to go into the management training program when I finish my degree. |

How many CSMs do you have? How often do you have CSM meetings? How often do you have cashier meetings... and do YOU PERSONALLY hold the meetings? Do you have meetings for greeters, cart pushers, and service desk... if so .. how often? Do your CSMs have a set schedule?

we have 5 CSMs, and the overnight support managers take care of the overnight CSM responsibilities. We have cashier meetings once a month. We have them 7:00am and 9:30pm on a Monday and at 7:00pm on a Friday. I do hold the cashier meetings personally, I find it easier to communicate the most important issues. The last time I let another CSM hold the meeting, she turned it into a big gripe session and reamed the group about red-lining and messy drawers and "not irritating the CSMs" for the entire meeting... little things. Didn't touch the real major issues. We do have meetings for greeters, cart pushers and service desk associates. They are all combined into one group, and their meeting is at 3:30pm on Monday. As for the schedule, the CSMs do generally have a set schedule. It changes from time to time to allow for vacations and such, or for holidays as needed. But normally it's a set schedule. I hope that covers it all lol. |

Outlying sales clerks do attend, department managers are not required to. Everyone else that regularly runs a register is required to attend. They are allowed to miss only one meeting in a rolling 6-month period. Any more than that results in a coaching for improvement. |
