My question for everyone: Are you allowed to dress up for Halloween in your store?
We have always been allowed to dress up for Halloween...and while not many associates actually do, I find it a lot of fun. I have dressed up every year since I have been there. HOWEVER at a morning meeting last week, the SM said that we are not allowed to dress up this year as the company wants us to present a more professional image.
Ummm like I llok professional with dirt streaks on my face from umloading freight and stocking shelves? Anyhow this is really bugging me...and I was wondering if any other stores that have been allowed to dress up are being told they can't this year. Our customers seem to get a big kick out of the people dressed up...and I think they will be disappointed when they see we aren't this year. This is a small town area...actually what is known as "the valley" to most people is 4 small towns that are edge to edge {I'm not sure I know the borders from one to the next} and together we don't make up a large town..~sigh~ I am just bummed about not dressing up...I think it's fun! |

Our store manager wants us to dress up for Halloween, but he wants to approve the costumes before hand. We are going to pass out candy for the kids this year. |

We have to still be in dress code if we want to dress up for Halloween. sounds fun right? I think all of two-three people dressed up last year. The dress code thing comes from market level too. We're still having a potluck though, least we can have a little bit of fun. |

Black and orange only for us that day too...tho I keep working on the SM about it. We had almost everyone in our dept talked into dressing up this year when they announced we can't do it. Of course one of the main "rival" schools of the two schools we are close to has black and orange for their school colors...so we are all saying we are having "Towanda" day at the store...should impress all our valley customers...lol |

lol yah, and my dept manager, associate and i were discussing it a few weeks ago. I suggested that all the associates should dress as the grim reaper, and the managers as the devil:P I thought that would be soo funny. Imagine the customers faces heh |

We're allowed to in our market. My personnel manager and I went shopping today and got black blazers and we're going to go to work Friday in black pants, white shirts and black blazers, black ties, black sunglasses, and have badges and bright green dart guns - we're going as the CBL mafia!!! Have you done your CBL's today?!?!?!?!? |
