These are great for the holiday and easy to make.The secret is in the milk.Do not use reg. milk.

 

4 1/2 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1 cup shortening

1tea sp baking soda

1 tab. sp cream of tarter(a must)

2 tab.sp vanilla

3 eggs

1 1/2 cups milk(sour or buttermilk)

 

mix everything together and drop  on greased cookie sheet by spoon full.Sprinkle with colored sugar and bake at 350 degrees till golden about 12 min. Yummmmmmmmmm
