Well they did it. They have moved the Supports to CSM's and two of the supports are going to overnights. This is very upsetting. I was planning on going into the MTP program ...I know what you all are saying??????WHY????? Because I know I can make a difference. Look at the Assist managers I have now. They don't all know how to run the registers or they don't know nothing about CSMing I have had to train them this last week. They no nothing about looking up merchandise on the computers. This is really nuts. I thought that as an Assist Manager you should know all this. But well I guess that I will have to start looking somewhere else. At my age I would have liked to move up. But I just don't see it happening at the store that I am at. Well I am done venting now....Off to work I go. Later Lady |

They should know all of it, but sadly they dont' do a good job teaching it. They have changed the mtp since i went through it. When i went through it everyone went to another store. Sad fact was that the store you trained at didn't have to pay your wages, that came from the home office. (well anything to 48 hours was paid by home office and rest was by store, so you didnt' work over 48, LOL). This led to some of the managers thinking they had free labor. So instead of you getting the time to learn how to work in claims, sell a gun, etc. They would have spend day after day up front checking and saying this more practice for you. Now the program has changed that you spend time with your own store, but if they don't know how to run a store in the first place, then its just as bad. |

I thought that once you went into MTP, you had to wait a year before you could try to go back to your home store.........that there was one 'training' store in each district????

Smoke=====They like to say that as a general rule. Truth be known i have seen where people have went back to thier original stores before a year. Before we went to this market mgr. thing instead of district mgr., the district mgr. would never let you return to your home store, because you had to many connections he felt. Just up to the big boys up stairs. |

Originally, it was designed not to allow the assistnats back in thier home store and for the assistants not to stay in any store to long. Walmart seems to have switched gears with this though. Yeah, this was due to the fact that if a dept manager gets promoted and then returns to the same store as an assistant, no one will take them seriously. I can not remember the last time an assistant manager did an "involuntary" transfer at my old store. I mean, one moved to Vegas so that was on him, but ever since they realigned the districts (and started calling them Markets) I don't think anyone from my old store was forced to transfer by the district/market manager. |
