Well I have just about had it with this so called Walmart moneycard.
Last month I put my check on my card and they declined me to use my card.
They said because of the fact that my son's account was deliquent that they wanted to make sure that it was not going to happen to me just because we live at the same address. Now after fighting with them on that. I finally got it to where I can use my card. My son went to put his disability check on his card like he does every month.
Now they are not letting him use his card. They said that it has to be blocked for 30 days before he can use it. Now he cannot pay his bills because they are not letting him us the card. They are saying that there was a transcation made at Food Max without his permisson. Now how can they do that .....I asked , was a debit which would consist of a pin number or was it signed? They would not answer me...All they said was that the money for that transaction was not put back on the card.
But get this....When he went to walmart to cash his check and have it added to the card. There was a balance of 751.08 That means that there was a beginning balance of 1.08. Well after fighting with them for three hours on the phone and them saying that he cannot use his card until he either reports it stolen or to pay the extra $20.00 to get one here within 7 days... I think that they messed up and trying to get him to blame.
So what I did might get me fired.
I wrote a letter to Lee. Scott letting him know what is going on and how as a CSM am I suppose to recommend this card when they are messing me up .....
Then I called a cosumer reports of a local news station. They are going to take over and see if they can help my son get his money back.
It is a shame but I bet you a dime to a dollar that I get fired for this. Or they will find some other reason to fire me....
Okay I will shut up....
What a terrible day off.
LADY

good for you. Stand up for your rights.  One more reason for me to be glad I was able to retire last march.  Everytime I read this site, I get mad at what Walmart is doing to the people that made it great.  Just remember tho, "what goes around comes around". Lee Scott is a sorry individual and a poor CEO.

Well it was not in a newspaper. It was a News station. They did do some phone calling because Thursday night an executive from the moneycard called and told my son that he can go get a new temp card and when he got home he was suppose to call this executive and this guy was going to put all the money from the old card to the new card and plus refund him the money that it cost to get the new temp card ,,,plus they are rushing the card to him and putting an extra $20.00 on his card to rush it here in three days. So he did get all his money and a little more.

It is a prepaid visa card sold by Walmart. Some people can not get a checking account, or for whatever reason choose to not have one.

Dear ladywhitewolf,

I had a year and a half of descrimination,
I lived with the day to day adjective of I don't,
give a dam what happens any more but almost,
five years now and going strong at walmart,
dont forget the power of the open door...

I also am glad you are standing up for yourself, instead of complaining and letting them run over the top of you, but not making an attempt to do anything about it.

I do not have the card. I have a free bank card from my bank, and so i need to use a card i do it that way. If i can't afford it, i don't buy it.

I got one of those prepaid money cards for $12 somthing and figured i could use it onlline and put my check on it.
I got it and put a hundred on it so i could buy something online.

After it needed to be reloaded i tried and it said no.
I contacted the company and they said they could not varifiy my info.

So i paid $12 for a so called reloadable card that is now useless.
