I remember about a month or two ago that I said. That about a week before my d-day drops. They will find some reason to cause me problems. Well I should have been a physic. Because my d-day drops off Jan 2. I was pulled to the back and was told that on Christmas Eve. I left the loan money locked in the podium and a key in the register. There was two CSM's closing. The other one I worked with. She was taking care of the registers while I was going around and helping management get everyone out of the store before 6pm. When the last few customers were left in the store. The other CSM said that she had to go because she was reaching her second fifth hour. She said that all that was needed done was the last two registers.
When the last customer left. I remember collecting all the registers and the money out of the bottm drawer. I do not remember leaving my keys in a register. I would not have been able to get the money out of the bottom drawer without the keys.
But they said that they have video of me leaving my key in the register and loan money in the drawer. So they are going to demote me to ICS. I cannot do ICS. This is going to kill me. I just had a heart attack a few months ago. I have a bad arm and they know damn well I will not be able to do this.
This really sucks after all that I have been through. I have tried my best to keep a smile on my face and go out of my way to help. But for what. NOTHING.
almost 4 years flushed down the toilet.
Sorry I will stop now. This just hurts.. One word of advice. Don't like your job because if you do...you won;t last.
LADY

Ladysassy,

Like you I would probably be very skeptical if they are making it up that i left the keys, etc. Like everyone pointed out, if you already had a D-day on file, and if they are right that you did leave the keys, etc., then they could have easily terminated you on the spot. But they didnt'???? They instead demoted you. Which would lead me to believe that they wanted you out of the csm position and already have it in for you. Personally, i doubt they have any tape of you leaving the keys in the drawer, and are bluffing. If you ask for the tape, i'm sure they will refuse or threaten your job further, and in the end all it will do is get you out the door that much quicker. Sadly, you are in no win situation. Personally, i would just be upset inside and hate my job each day more and more, but give up fighting.
Its times like this that i wish we had protectsions in place like JVB's company that when you were called into the office you could have had a witness to the meeting/demotion (weingarten rights----this right was taken away from non-union associates a few years ago), and then file a complaint against them. Sadly, we don't have anyone protecting us, except for us. We don't have to pay any money to protect ourselves, but one person speaking up against the company, like in your case, only allows companies to win.

Hang in there. I don't blame you for being upset, and i definately would be also. I know you are probably thinking of quitting and leaving, because each day you go in will seem much worse to you, because of how they have treated you. Hopefully, you will take a few deep breaths and maybe keep your eyes open for another job and when that new job comes along, then if things haven't improved you can leave walmart. Don't quit walmart then look for a new job, because you are out that much money in the meantime.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the wonderful advice. But I will have to agree with Ladysassy.
I am afraid that if I ask to see the video it would make things worse and they
would show me the door.
About two years ago before this store manager took over this store. She really hated the store manager that was there before her.I remember when she first started at this store. Any pic of the last store manager she would tear down. I have even walked into the manager's office and heard her talk crap about the last store manager.
I was promoted to CSM for the last store manager. I have had letters written about me in the local paper from customers that have written in about my customer service.
Plus I am one of the people that liked the last store manager that was there.
He would have company picnics and he would work morning, afternoon , night and overnight shifts just to get to know everyone. If you needed to talk to him. he would call you right back. Or stop what he was doing to listen to you. Now that is a store manager. The one that I have now. I have learned use work under this one that use to be my store manager. She did not like the way that she was treated by him. So lets say she dislikes anyone that liked him.
Everyone that I know of that was promoted by him. She has demoted. She never has any company picnics and the only ones that she brags about are you crew that use to work here when she was here in the past.
So I would say that she has it out for me in more than one way.
So yes I am going to take a few breaths and just ride out the storm. I have a assist manager that I work with. I have told him my concerns and that if I had to go anywhere. I would prefer overnights. I am good there (worked in apparel for a year) I know how all the department managers in apparel like there department stocked.
If I go to ICS I would be possibly put in pulling pallet jacks or flat carts with soda and bottled water. I had one heart attack earlier this year. I do not want to go through that again. I am only 42 and I should not be having problems with my heart.
I was never having heart problems until just year. I am looking for another job.
But if I ask to see the video. I know ...you can say a gut feeling. She will boot me out in a hot second......
I am trying to keep my chin up....
Lady

Lady hang in there.  Sorry to hear your news, but you do work for wal-mart.  I would ask to see the tape all they can say is no.  When they did something like this to me they told me "we are pulling you our of bakery" and we have an opening in day matienance" RIGHT.  I was very upset, because it was right out of the blue and it was two asst mamagers that called me in the office our co and manager were not there that day, so I know it came from somewhere else.  Anyway I walked right into the personnel office and got a LOA packet and went to the Dr. and he put me on a LOA for two weeks.  When I got back they put me in Photo Lab and I was told what they did to me was very very wrong, I was told by the store manager, and I lost .20cents and was there for 2 months and they came to me and ask if I would return to the bakery as cake decorator, I told them YES if they got rid of the two problems that they had and guess what they did I now I am back.  It is very hard to go through something like this but like you I had a lot of customer backing me and I have always said if you are happy working in a certain place they will find something and try very hard to get you out.  HOW STUPID is that.  If you like your job don't they know you will work hard and do a better job.
Keep us posted  If there is anything we can do let us know.  You might also call HO or the DM and have they check into it for you.  They will.

Yea Lies you are right. It was not Ladysassy. It was you that said it.
But yes I am afraid to ask to see the tape. Because I know that
it will get worse.
I do love my job as a CSM .....The crew I work with at night.
We all work great together. I have a few that don't like to work.
They were my problem children when I first started. But now.
You should see. There department looks great before we close.
I have been told by other department managers. That I am the only
CSM that no one complains about......I have been a CSM for 2 years
and 2 months. I have only had 2 customers complain that I was rude to them.
I don't have favorites I treat everyone the way I want to be treated.
My grandmother always told me. You ask them nicely the first time then
if they give you any trouble. Then you say. I am not asking....Just do it.
It has worked out for me so far...
I know that ICS is hurting bad. But I found out last night that so are the over night stockers. So I am hoping that I get on overnights. Because if I work the store opening hours. They will call me up to cover the CSM lunches and breaks.
I will not do that. I figure that if they are dropping from being a CSM. I am never going to help them cover lunches and breaks.
I will miss working with the customers. But well I need a break anways.
Thanks everyone for your advice... So have fingers crossed for overnights.
Lady

I would say that if they are saying they have evidence of this, then you have the right to see these "so called" tapes,  after all its THEM thats accusing you hun. Hope you get this sorted, good luck LADY

Ladywhitewolf----Sorry, i just love being told i'm right, LOL. Seriously though, i have my fingers crossed for you and dont' blame you on not being willing to help cover up front.

Clovey----LOl, you put me on my toes here, LOL> I didn't say ladywhitewolf doesn't have the right to see the footage. To be honest i would want to see it. What i said above was that i don't think demanding to see the footage would get anything positive to come about. Lets say that the managers did set up Ladywhitewolf and she demands to see the tape that they don't have. Unfortunately, i don't think they would back down and say ya we tried to cheat you and give in. I think she would be in the same boat with them even madder at her for catching them in thier lie. On the other hand lets say she honestly did mess up and leave the keys, etc. Then they could say oh, ya alright will show it to ya, and then they could add to her punishement by terminating her, etc.
I think you had a valid point Clovey, but think that she would be in more hot water than just to let the managers win this battle. If we were in JVB's store where Ladywolf could file a real complaint (not just open door policy) then i think she would be safer, and could speak up more freely without fear of retalliation.
If i was to answer your question yes or no, i'm not sure how to answer that. It would depend on the question. If the question is does she have the right to the tape, then i would say yes, but if the question is should she ask for it, i would say no.

Bren-------Looks like i'm the lonely sole with my opinion. Thats okay though, because i'm right, LOL
