Well I got a written coaching last night. They said it was because I had missed nine days in 6 months. For the last month I have been going to work on a broken foot.
I took one day off becaus my foot was so swollen I could not even think about putting a shoe on.
This really sucks because at most employers if you are calling in sick and you have sick time. It automatically goes towards sick time.
I am almost at the point of quitting. Shoot I was working my ass off so much last April that I ended up at the Hospita and had a Mild Heart Attack.
Working my ass off at work and bein sick finally caught up with me that day.
But this is B. S because there favorite ones can call in and leave early when ever they want......
No favortism in Walmart. BULL
lady
About that Heart attack thing, we also had a guy that had a MAJOR heart attack, he went on vacation, and because he isn't a manager favorite, he had NO help during that time, so when he came back, he had about 2 dozen pallets, a swarm of late BAM exceptions, and a completely torn apart department. He worked through all that in one day, and that night... this cost us who was (IMO) the best department manager our store had. He is still there, but only as a sales associate.
And as for the favoritism thing, this is a relization that we all have to face one time or another. I honestly wish everyone would go out and find a better job EXCEPT for the manager favorites (you know, the ones that do so little and get away with so much) lets see how well the store runs then... after all nobody but the "best" would be left
It's people who have abused the system who have ruined it for those who truly need the days off. I'm sorry to hear that you're one of those people who needed it and that it turned out that way for you.
Yeah, this is why your 1st sick day doesn't count as a sick day. Too many call outs, of course, this leads to those who needed to be out 1 day taking 2-3 off.
On the bright side, it could have been worse... 4 days is supposed to be a verbal.... 5 is supposed to be a written.... 6 a D-Day... and 7 is supposed to be termination... at least it was only a written.
I was told that no one will ever be fired (in my Market anyway) for an attendance related issue without involvement of the Market HR.
Bare in mind that being out 3 days in a row counts as one absence, but being out 1 day, coming in the next, and being out the next is 2 absences, so although she said 9 days, it could be more like 5 absences, if she was out for 3 days each one at a time, and then out 3 days at a time twice.
And if they followed the attendance policy at my store, everyone would be gone, Except me. But if there's one thing that I learned, good reliable workers who show up to their job every day on time and take pride in their job are NOT the kind of people Wal-Mart wants. So, I went somewhere that likes workers like this (and everyone they hire is the same way as me, whether it be Wal-Mart or another company, they were tired of being treated like dirt for giving it their all while manager favorites get all the credit for doing NOTHING)
Lady, you really might want to consider quitting (after landing another job of course). If there's one thing I know about coachings like this, the hardest part is watching other people get away with what got you in trouble... EVERY DAY.
