At my store normally i would say there are many carts out on the pakring lot, especially in the evening. When i was a cart pusher (when i 1st started with the company), i had to stock paper goods/chemicals and pick up carts. There were some days that i was very buisy and i do mean buisy, but i kept the lot very clear of carts, especially in the afternoon. I always made sure the lot was clear of carts before i went home, but the store wasn't a supercenter then either, and the lot was suppose to be clear.

Noairman, LOL,You know at an Aldies nearby they do have where you pay some change to use the cart, but you get the money back if you return it to the cart area. I like to see little kids running around picking them up to get back the money (from carts others were to lazy to put up themselves).

I love that Aldi's does that. Wish we would.
Most of our customers are so quick to complain about something ringing up a penny more they would battle a blizzard to get that quarter back LOL

Too bad so many lots are so bad.

On a very busy night I leave the lot with a few carts, but usually keep everything corraled if my lines are full and there isn't time to make a few more.  We aren't a supercenter, but we recently calculated that we have about 500 carts on the lot.  Most nights I'm on my own.  And overtime is a big no-no.  But given the choice, I'd always stay until its spotless.

I make sure that customers in the morning will have carts, since the first cart guy of the day doesn't come in until 10 or 11.  I make sure that the overnighters have enough carts for their work.  And that the store at least looks cleaned up, even on a busy night.

I get compliments for my work ethic;  for how hard I work, and that I rarely take a day/half a day unlike others, that I'm always willing to bust my butt, and I have entirely open available (which is apparently what keeps me at a full 40 hours a week.. I'm willing to come in any time, do a split shift, whatever it takes).

So I take a lot of pride in how great our lot looks when I'm there.  They have me doing the closing shift, because as a manager put it- I was the one that could get the job done right, and was someone they could count on.  Too bad more cart guys don't take pride in their work.  But then, I love working at Wal-Mart, and appreciate the ability to feed and clothe my family, without my wife being forced to work.

They send all of third shift out at night to get them in my store. And the door greeter stays where they are supposed to.....at the door.

I dont agree that employees should be using carts for frieght
I think that the people who pay or checks are most deserving
a cart than anything when I started doing carts it did not say
I have to furnish carts for employees Im in service for the customer
and if I had my way no employee would be using a cart unless,
if they are done work and shopping

Have a great week Arcangel

Noiarman,

I was quite serious when I wanted to know
what parkinglots looked like though the many
differnt walmarts my post had no place for comment
such as yours so in the future if you had anything unrelated
to the post I have made I prefere you not to post and this is
my honest feelings I work to hard to take such junk you have
to give it if you want to do carts please do come visit my store
and request a trnasfere I'm fed up I want to do something else...
and if you have anything sensible to add to a future post only then
add cause I seen enough of your future posts to see you probably
dont take your job seriously or the word work seriously.
I find you to be insulting and patronizing much like some of the youth
that come shopping who ride in carts and try circus acts over carts
and who run over baby blues with their pick up trucks . no sir
Iam comming closer each day were I can think nothing of walking off the job
because of the immaturity desplayed by others and probably you as well
Noiarman Sorry folkes I had to get this out

Arcangel
