Many feds have this rule; and many others don't. The basic principle is first come, first serve...

- There is no need to have a one face rule; as even if someone has the same face as you it doesn't take away from your character, and also, if someone goes on LOA and takes up the face, we could lose out on a new member who uses the same face- and infact any character that uses the same face would be turned away if the picbase was already taken.
- The one face rule makes me seem unique, even though it's not really the picbase that makes the character, rather it only supplements it. Plus I'm a greedy bastard who doesn't really care for the game of efedding, only my own inclination and could give a damn less how many potential members W2K could lose because of this decision; and having duplicates of the same face somehow threatened my masculinity and so I use the excuse that "it's not realistic" even though my character gets hit in the head 53 times a match with a barbed wire bat set on fire and still kicks out of a pinfall, because god forbid, I can't be knocked out for three whole seconds.

Ah the good ole one-face rule. Ya know my thoughts are actually that PWT may have had a good idea. Our rule is that its one person to a face unless the other person using the face is willing to share. I mean how badly do you really want someone in ya fed if just because they can't have the face they want they'll not play? That should just be an indication of the kind of temper tantrums you could look forward to when they don't get their way in results or something.

Indeed, but then again, if I couldn't use HHH for NED, I'd not feel right either.

Of course, nixing the one-face rule would open up for more HHH's, but it's a gamble I'm willing to take to find some new/fresh blood.

There's a difference between tantrums about results and not wanting to RP as a face you don't see yourself as. It'd be like, CM not able to be Matt Hardy because so-and-so took it.

I'd either do the rule the way I suggested or not at all. I think those are the best bets.

at this point, there's no way i'd feel right role playing with Ryan Cain using anyone but Gavin Rossdale as his face, for a variety of reasons. one, because it just seems to suit the character perfectly and, two, because i've never seen anyone else use Gavin, which not only gives the character one of many unique details, but makes it so that the name "Ryan Cain" isn't even necessary, as i feel a lot of people would know who it was just by looking at a picture.

every time i've created a new character, i've put a lot of thought into the picbase for it. i search until i find one that's perfect. to be honest, Ryan's the only one i've created for whom i feel the picbase is actually *perfect*, but maybe that just says more for the character.

i'll put it this way, for the past few years, when i've seen Gavin Rossdale on television, magazines, the internet, wherever, i haven't really seen Gavin Rossdale, but, rather, Ryan Cain.

now, after that spiel, my vote is actually for nixing the one face rule. because i feel like since i went to such lengths to choose my character's pictures, no one else is gonna happen to use mine anyway.

PS
does it piss anyone else off when Cody randomly changes Cross from Phil Anselmo? exactly.

For some reason Edge strikes me as a perfect pic for Cross

Faces don't matter. It's actually cheap heat for roleplayers. Having Reno/Broly as your face is prone to a typical insult that involves anime. Having The Undertaker as your face is prone to biker jokes.

You shouldn't feel insecure if someone uses your character's face. It's not a big deal. Unless someone is a carbon copy of your character, there's no point in getting just a little ticked at someone using your character's face.

I disagree, I think the face matters a lot for the charactor. I have always used Mike Patton for Dante, from day 1 until now. I couldn't imagine using another face even though I've considered it a few times. The face sets the mood of the charry. That's why HHH works for NED. That's why Matt Hardy works for CM.

But in reality I don't think it matters so much, I think that maybe established characters should have dibs on the one face rule for them e.g. if someone showed up in w2k wanting to use Phil, fuck that, that's CROSS. I guess it's different for people that use wrestlers pictures but I've always liked the one face rule but meh .. i'm on loa anyways so thanks for wasting 22 seconds to read this .. suckers

I don't really have an opinion on this. I'm almost positive that my characters faces are pretty safe with me and only me. However, I cannot picture NED without thinking HHH and I can't picture CM without thinking Matt Hardy, etc etc.... I've shared before, when I used Lita for Terri Lamin, but all I asked is that they try not to use the same damn pictures I used, since I don't go switching my banners every thirty seconds, I pretty much only need a couple pics, and there's a bazillion more out there for use.

Hey, look... you just wasted some more time reading. AHHHAHAHAHA!

I think most people just have an unspoken agreement not to hijack established faces. Certain wrestler faces I guess could be traded around to a couple people but with some characters there shouldn't be multiple faces. Like if someone came around using Mike Patton I wouldn't be able to get into the character because that's Dante and only Dante. Same with Rossdale. And some wrestlers faces not commonly used like Matt Hardy that's always been CM. If someone else rpd in w2k using kmatt I'd just think CM all the time. But some people are uncreative d bags and feel the need to replicate other people hoping for the same success or something. I kinda like the one face per person because it adds to the reality factor. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's ever written a match for two trish stratus pics bases or two HHH's or HBK's. Or Drew vs Ace who both change faces twice before the match is even over.

Meg sucks.
