I locked my car --- as I walked away I heard my car door unlock I went back and locked my car again three times. I looked around and there were two guys sitting in a car in the fire lane next to the store. When I looked straight at them they did not unlock my car again.

How to lock your car safely...

While traveling my son stopped at a roadside park. He came out to his car less than 4-5 minutes later and found someone had gotten into his car, and stolen his cell phone, laptop computer, GPS navigator briefcase......you name i t ... called the police and since there were no signs of h is car being broken into- the police told him tha t there is a device that robbers are using now to clone your security code when you lock your doors on your car using your key-chain locking device.. They sit a distance away and watch for their next victim. They know you are going inside of the store, restaurant, or bathroom and have a few minutes to steal and run. The police officer said ....to be sure to manually lock your car door-by hitting the lock button inside the car, that way if there is someone sitting in a parking lot watching for their next victim it will not be you. When you hit the lock button on your car upon exiting...it does not send the s ecurity code, but if you walk away and use the door lock on your key chain- it sends t he code through the airw aves where it can be stolen, something totally new to us...and real ... be aware of this and please pass this note on..look how many times we all lock our doors with our keys...just to be sure we remembered to lock them....and bingo someone have our code...and whatever was in the car...can be gone.

Wow!  Fortunately, I do usually just click the lock button on my door when I leave it, unless I'm at home and have bags to drag out of the back seat.

Thanks for the warning, Velz!

I didn't know it either Vicki until she sent it to me last night and it pays to know these things who would have thought some idiot out there devised a machine to steal your keylock sequence ..
Theres nothing these theives wont do..I said idiot because they usually get caught then or later ...and another life end up in  the cells of our state prisons. What a waste of such a brillant mind to turn it to crime. What a shame ...

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know, after a little research, this bit about the keyless entry is a hoax.  your car starter/locking device is specific to the coding with your vehicle, that is why it costs so much to get a key coded to your vehicle (i know mine cost 80 dollars just for a coded key for the remote starter).  The only way they could get your specific code would be to remove the key from your car starter, which would render your remote car starter useless.  I didnt want you all being worried, and scared to use your remote locking device.

check out that link....a lot of the hoaxes will be very familiar to you.

Thanks Corrie thats a big releif  to know but you never know so better safe than sorry until you do know ...so thanks Vel for posting and thank you so much Corrie for finding it to be a hoax///just one thing I am worrying about now though this thing about if you leave your keys in the car  that thing about calling a family member by cell that has a key lock to your vehicle and hold it to their cell hone while you hold yours to your lock entrance on the door and them clikcing the keylock on the phone and the sequence being picked up by your keylock and opening your door that way do you know if this is true...anyone?
