Creamy Chocolate Truffles

3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened-condensed milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chips with sweetened milk. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Chill 2 hours or until firm. Shape into 3/4" balls. Roll in any of the suggested coatings. Chill 1 hour or until form. Store covered at room temperature. (Optional: Creamy Chocolate Rum Truffles)- Omit vanilla and instead stir 1/4 cup dark rum and 1/2 teaspoon rum extract into melted chocolate mixture. Chill. Shape and roll in flaked coconut. Proceed as above

Cinnamon Popcorn

5 quarts air popped corn (1 1/2 cups unpopped)
1 cup white sugar
1 stick oleo
1/4 cup white corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup red hot candies
1/4 teaspoon soda

Mix all ingredients except corn and soda in microwave safe bowl. Cook on high in microwave 1 1/2 minutes. Stir with wooden spoon. Cook in microwave again until red hots melt. Add soda and pour onto popcorn that has been place in brown paper bag. Stir until mixed well. Place bag in microwave and cook on high 1 1/2 minutes. Stir. Repeat twice more. Pour out on counter and spread out to cool. When cool place in air tight container.

Christmas Mice

Makes 1 batch

1 package milk chocolate chips
1 package Chocolate kisses
2 jars cherries with stems
1 tablespoon paraffin
as needed red colored gel icing
as needed almond slivers

Melt chocolate chips on log in non-stick pot. Add paraffin until melted. Drain cherries. Dip cherry into melted chocolate and lay sideways on cookie sheet so stem will look like the tail. Using a Chocolate kiss with a little melted chocolate on the bottom, attach to front of the cherry (towards the bottom). It should look like a mouse's nose. Use almond slices for ears and red gel for eyes. Refrigerate. Kids love these !!

Chocolate Silk Bon Bons

1 cup Crisco
3/4 cup unsifted confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Brachs Milk Chocolate Stars

Cream Crisco and sugar. Blend in vanilla. Add flour and salt. Mix until well blended.(will look somewhat dry) Flatten out small piece of dough (approximately 1 teaspoon) Keep water in small bowl for dipping fingers so dough does not stick to hands. Place one Brachs milk chocolate star in the center of flattened dough. Fold dough over star and seal, making sure that star is covered completely. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar for the holidays if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes ONLY. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Really good cookie. My family absolutely loves these. Bet you can't eat just one!!!

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

2 or 3 squares of almond bark (white or dark)
1 bag of pretzels

Melt almond bark in pan. Drench pretzels in the melted chocolate. Put in fridge until chocolate is hard. If you want to: put more melted chocolate in a plastic baggie and make a hole in one of the corners and drizzle over pretzels.
