Hi Everyone,

As many of you know, on November 1st at Qualcomm Stadium, over 40,000 people from all over the state are gathering to say a prayer that Proposition 8 passes. In response to this, over one thousand of "No on 8" supporters will be lining University Ave. in a candle light rally. We will let our voice be heard that we do not want our rights taken away. With only a few days left before Election Day, we all need to stand united in this historic moment. Please join me on November 1st at 9pm on University Ave. in Hillcrest and please tell all of your friends and family to stand with you. As Californians we have an obligation to help lead this great country into the next generation by setting an example, by preserving the rights and freedoms of all Americans.

You can pick up your candle at the GLBT center in Hillcrest, located at 3909 Centre Street. Mayor Jerry Sanders and his daughter will be handing out the candles. "No on 8" signs will also be provided.

Remember to Vote No on 8 on Nov. 4th!

4). ***** SEAL THE DEAL FOR LUMPKIN WEEKEND *****

WHEN: Saturday, November 1st, 10-6
WHEN: Sunday, November 2nd, 12-6

WHERE: Meet at the Lumpkin Campaign office (address below)

FROM: Joan and David Little <[email protected]> 52 CD Caucus (A-F) <[email protected]>

Election is 5 DAYS away!!!

Can you help drop literature this weekend and/or help make phone calls???
Hello 52nd Congressional District Friends!

Our 52nd Congressional District Candidate, Mike Lumpkin, could really use our help over the next 5 days, particularly this weekend.

His campaign needs to make literature drops in as many areas of the 52nd Congressional District as possible. This does not require knocking on doors ?just dropping the lit at Democratic, Decline to State and/or Republican doors. (Mike will need to get Republican votes to win this district given our registration challenge in the 52nd.)

*Word is that one poll has shown Mike 3 points ahead of Dunkin Hunter Jr.!!!*

We need to keep the pressure on ?Dunkin Junior is going negative and will be airing radio ads attacking Obama and Mike. See following from recent e-mail I received from the Lumpkin Campaign:

“Today, on KOGO radio, Junior's new ads aired stating that Mike Lumpkin and Barack Obama are supporters of partial birth abortion and that Hunter and John McCain are going to go to Washington to fight to stop them. Hear and see for yourself what Hunter Junior considers his "number 1 priority." Not the economy. Not National Security. Not the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's marriage!

*Please help anyway you can, whether by making lit drops over the next few days for Mike, making phone calls and/or making a contribution to his campaign. I’ll be doing lit drops for Mike in the Scripps Ranch area this weekend. If you would like to join me in Scripps Ranch, let me know (respond to this e-mail or call me at 858-486-5359) and/or contact the campaign directly. See below:

* As we walk and talk to people, we are getting more and more votes for Mike, especially from Republicans! The good news is, we have so many Republican votes that Junior actually has to campaign just to shore up his base. The bad news is, his volunteers will be out walking this weekend in San Carlos, La Mesa, El Cajon, Spring Valley, Scripps Ranch, and Poway. Are we going to let him get away with that? OF COURSE NOT! Let's show them what we are made of and let's make it snow Mike Lumpkin literature in the 52nd! Together we will win! The alternative is completely unacceptable. So, everyone turns out to walk for Mike this weekend and together we will take back the 52nd! For those who don't want to walk there is always calling because we need to turnout the Democratic vote, so come on down to the office and let's do it! Jessica

5). >>>>>>>" GET OUT THE VOTE!"<<<<<<<< " GET OUT THE VOTE!"

GREG BOLIAN <[email protected]> OBAMA SAN DIEGO <<< Get Out the Vote San Diego! Greetings,

Thank you for your dedication and effort. Last year the GOP registration advantage in San Diego County was 75,000. Their lead has dropped to 379 with 15,000 registrations yet to be processed. It is very likely that San Diego County will be a Democratic majority for the first time in 24 years. This has been made possible through your tireless efforts. You have our heartfelt gratitude. Congratulations team!

The registration deadline has passed and we are in the final phase of the election cycle, Get Out the Vote! Volunteers are needed to help national and local campaigns. The change we seek is within grasp, but many of the races are extremely close and we need your help. Please volunteer and or donate to the campaign of your choice at this critical time. These are some of the ways that you can help to reclaim our country.

Yes We Can! Greg, Jack and Linda ~~~ Obama for America

*The Obama Campaign is hosting numerous phone banks throughout the county to Get Out the Vote for Barack in critical swing states. Please bring a cell phone, charger and a laptop if you have one. Mike Lumpkin for Congress

Mike Lumpkin is an outstanding candidate for Congress in the 52nd district. His opponent expected to win easily but the polls show it is extremely close and the attack ads have intensified. Don't let Mike be Swift Boated. Barack needs a team in Congress to advance his vision for America.

#2). SAN DIEGO COUNTY ABOUT TO GO BLUE!!!

Registered Dems are about to overtake the GOP in the traditionally conservative county of San Diego CA.

In the City of San Diego, registered Dems have widened their majority by a margin of 48,554 voters
(didn't see this spelled out in the Union Tribune article) ....

With 352,000 nonpartisans registered, there is probably already a substantial progressive and liberal-thinking majority in San Diego County ...

Mission: Almost Accomplished..... Democrats are about to emerge from an 8-year depression ...

SAN DIEGO ?Democrats continue to gain ground on Republicans in the county, trailing by 379 registered voters in the latest figures released by the Registrar of Voters Office.

Democrats have increased their ranks at a rate of 2-to-1 over Republicans since December 2007 and almost certainly will take the lead in registration for the Nov. 4 election when final numbers are released, given current trends.
County election officials say there are between 15,000 and 20,000 voters left to input into the system, a slow process that could stretch to the weekend.

The latest numbers released Wednesday show Democrats account for 539,560, or 36.26 percent of registered voters. Republicans have 539,939, or 36.28 percent.

As of Dec. 7, 2007, Democrats had 435,857 voters, or 34.4 percent. Republicans had 495,613, or 39.1 percent.

'Clearly, the gap has been narrowing,' said Registrar of Voters Deborah Seiler. 'We've just seen a consistent trend. It's a narrowing gap between the Democrats and the Republicans, and a fairly steady increase in the number of nonpartisans.'

The difference is the closest since 1984, when Republicans overtook Democrats for the registration lead. But there has been steady four-year decline in the percentage of Republicans and a recent surge in registered Democrats.

Nonpartisan voters have swelled by nearly 66,000 this year to 352,034, or 23.7 percent. In all, there are 1,488,157 registered voters in the county.

These newsletters are coming from the Democratic chapter that I used to belong to when I lived in San Diego.  I am thrilled to see all of this activity!

I am throwing the kitchen sink where I can as even though it appears that Obama will win hands down, the fact of the matter is we just don't know.  There is a factor of complacency; where some will sit home assuming Obama will undoubtedly win the election when in fact it is this assumption that will get us into trouble!

Vote!  Vote!  Vote!
