in the mist of the valley is hidden a place
where no one has been in more than a hundred years
or if they have they have not returned to tell of its mysteries,
and from afar many have created strories of the majikal beings
who live in the land beyond the mist and of the riches that lay
waiting for those who find the secret to break the curse that was
cast upon the land by the king, who long ago lived when the land was
free of famine and there was plenty for man and beast
and the rains were plenty and the plains were layden with trees of
fruit we  know now only as myth in tales told of years gone past
and the one who is chosen is soon to arrive and the hope is renewed and
the people have hope.

Good for you, Cara....what a super challenge genre for our first in the new year.

I love this and have read it a few times, each time brings to mind a land we found in Arizona where the Indians had lived in cave homes and the rope ladders still hung from the openings and the base still showed evidence of how and where they had both cooked and presumably sat.

But at all times... there was an atmosphere of the spirits in wait, having not passed on and your piece brought that very much back to memory, Cara, thanks, Zy

Hi
I am glad you enjoyed my peom. I did have a visula pic and like a voice speking to me as I wrote. It is how I best like to write, with that connection to something greater than self and the flow of words just is there.

hugs
Cara
