Basking Male
Dirty with sweat, tar and dust
I stink happily, lazily -
Uncaring in evenings tired glow -
Tomorrow can wait another day.
The tools are hung in their place.
I crack a cold one and bask
Enjoying the sun and the gannets
Dive Bombing far out in the bay.
I shall not be removed from here.
The rocks are comfy and sun warmed.
The surration of the lapping tide
Lulls me and bids me to laze.
This is my time ?at one ?at peace
I am at home only to myself
And the soothing of the waves.
The gulls cry, over and over
And?I do not care.
The roof shall weather winter.
Go away!
Or pull up a rock
And join me.
