OMG Well obviously I'd like to thank Mark Knopler, and the rest of the band, without who's fantastic guitar work this award would not have been possible. A special mention to the lady whose input helped this project culminate in today's success. Also to Zy for the wonderful encouragement and opportunity to share my writings, and lastly to all the nice people here that voted for my poem. I humbly accept and thankyou. |

Not only a poular poet, great sonnet writter, but a fan of Dire Straites as well, Steve, Money for Nothing and Brotherhood in Arms were the first two to hook me, I love listening to both words and guitar playing of Mark Knopler and his group. Well done, Steve, an original and well thought out piece to start our Poem of The Week of with once again, congrats, Zy |

I need to know the words after Money for Nothing. Is it the kids are free, the kicks are free? hey? |

I think it's "kicks for free" (apologies if I'm wrong, but it's been a long time since I've heard it). |

Congratulations Steve! APPLAUSE from me too! You're not the only one with varied taste in music. I have everything in my collection from Beethoven to the Scissor Sisters (with a little bit of Queen thrown in for good measure). Oops... ...what have I done? Watch out for some "Bohemian Rhapsody" threads in future... |

Hy, aren't those Steve's words, Mark, inspired by Mark Knopler? Zy |

Just checked it out, Mark and yes, those are Steve's words, obviously inspired by Mark Kopfler's, but not enough that we need worry about copyright or such. My memory is not always as exact as it used to be and I did not link the titles, but I think Steve has deviated far enough away from his inspiration. Anyways, I have given credit to Mark Kopfler anyways on the Home page now, just to keep everything tickityboo, Mark, thanks for your concern, Zy |
