poetry is...
 
a line of meter, a line of rhyme
a line remembering a better time
compositions with structure
sentences in groups, not clusters
don't ask me where poetry starts
don't ask me what sets it apart
I write what I feel; what I know
sometimes fast, most times slow
poetry is a portrait painted
with words pure and untainted
meant to inspire, not to confuse
given to poets by their muse

Just what I hoped to get. Individual thoughts.  I could almost see a shrug of the shoulders in the middle of this! You write what you write.
