the best gift ever I got was me life back
after 35 years of hell
I lost self in dark pit
then light shone
and a hand lead me forward
and slowly since, I chose to walk forward
and made a commitment to self to let healing happen
and as I honour that commitment
healing is happening
and so the greatest gift I gave is to self and
the greatest gift I received is the one I gave myself
and it is the best ever gift ever as it is pure love of self
and I continue to commit to honouring and replenishing
that love so that I may reclaim my life fully oneday
the gift today is freedom
freedom from abuse
and that in its self is more than enough
