Hmmmm....
1. The band Erasure released their single "A little respect" - I know this because my Mum told me she was in hospital at the time - hence why the song always reminds her of me.
2. Comic Relief hold the first "Red Nose Day", which raises £15 million in the United Kingdom for charity.
3. In Dublin, Ireland, Céline Dion wins the thirty-third Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland singing "Ne partez pas sans moi" (Don't leave without me). (Celiné Dion is my idol!)
4. Die Hard opens in theaters, starring Bruce Willis
5. A terrorist bomb explodes and crashes Pan Am flight 103 a Boeing 747, over Lockerbie, Scotland killing 270, including 11 on the ground
6. As well as that, I was born, 11 weeks early weighing a tiny 2lb exactly. I was also born with catoracts in both eyes and before my Mum knew whether I was male or female I was rushed to another hospital in an ambulance with 2 police patrol cars. I was christened Emma Jade - and I was christened because the doctors thought I was going to die. My lungs also collapsed 3 times and I had surgery on my eyes to remove the catoracts on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day of this year.
So, yes, thats what happened in the year I was born - 1988.
