" Maybe he didn't love me as he should have."
And I said...
He was meant to hold you when you cried,
He was meant to see the truth when you lied,
He was meant to take you trick or treating,
But instead he gave you yet another beating.
He was meant to watch over you,
He was meant to be there whilst you grew,
He was meant to show you love,
Not a fist, not a whack, not a shove.
Then you asked,
"Why didn't he love me as he should have?"
For that I had no answer.
