bump ?it’s night

bump it’s night - bump it’s night
hidden feelings - mine shut tight
daddy ?can you tell me ?will i be all right?
hidden feelings ?mind ?shut tight

who’s afraid of the big bad wolf
who’s that hidden in mulberry bush
who’s that filled with teenage guff
daddy ?can you tell me ?will i be - - - - - - [enough]?

blued-eyes sagging in fallen wood
fix your wing ?if i could
i know - - - - - - - no one understood
the big bad wolf is dead

there’s a cry that’s waiting from yesterday
there’s a candle burning for come-what-may
if only you’d told me what to say
daddy ?can we still go out and play?

there’s a cold wet wind whining at my back
ice water leaking through each fault ?each crack
- uhhhhhhhhhh ?sorry ?it’s just a chill
i was wooed by the view from my windowsill
so i came out to play on my own

a partner - is maybe what i lack
na ?never mind ?i don’t have the knack

BUMP! ?whoops - did that scare you?
sorry ?but
it’s night

things go bump in the night

did you know ?did you

huh ?sure ?you knew

i can’t tell you anything . . . . . . . .i know

i’m all wet ?[chuckle]

and you - - - - - - - you’re in my woods . . . . . . .

see you later

ciao

friend,

mikhail

A little shivery....have taken more than a single interpretation from this one, Mikhail.

The words of a child making their journey against the odds of life?

Experiences in the night being of a haunted kind, remembering?

Perhaps even just night being the time when we should not be alone, but are, till someone or something intrudes into that privacy?

Whatever, an interesting, yet shivery read (for me, anyways) Zy

the simple answer Zy is this is about dread and hope

each line has a complex part of me in it - including my getting too personal (at the end) - holding others at arms lenght still 'you're in my woods' - etc.

thanks for commenting

Ah hah...so my third choice was pretty close to the mark there, Mikhail,, I'm pleased when I can almost get into your thoughts...though your 'woods' are densely grown and you give one much to ponder over, Zy

I love the imagery of this one.  I finally found Collective Poems!  lol.  The Big Bad Wolf can mean different things for different people.  Great write!
