forgive this posting ?it is likely too personal to be worthy - - i’ve been feeling a bit out of sorts and am struggling with my muse (as you can see)

while visiting the grave of a fallen mate of mine i started out thinking about religious markers on gravestones ?and it diverged from there ?i post it in the off-chance that someone else can derive some connection with what i was feeling

m

-------------------

leave no mark hard-by me
my grave’s no billboard - iconically
for clan - or tribe - ideal - or creed
keep thy shallow baseless need
off me

leave slick quote off my stone
accept my beliefs and leave me ‘lone
as i rot from flesh to bone
paid my dues in the killin?zone

in a dark-drip crypt lit by blue-black light
wait ghoul-grim specter in the cool dark night
he needs no ads ?death his rite
a fiend i could call friend

says he:
death my friend is as it should be
simply a life phase ?intrinsically
no ads ?no fads ?just tools of the trade
there’s aids ?sharp blades - bubonic plagues
and all for me - - he he HAAAAaaaaaaaaa . . . . . . .

-

place no ads upon my tomb
return my soul to nature’s womb
bring me back as albatross ?so.-right dolphin ?under so-southern cross
elate me ?berate me ?but spare me the ?loss
of being human

the pain of night ?the cringe ?the fright
of memories past - uah - hol?on fast
here we go again ?down ?down ?down that hole
to dark wormy guilty hate ?no ?no ?it’s too late
to auger-out

leave no colors o’re my bones
when i’m gone ?leave me ‘lone
remember what was ?what gentleness does
when assailed by ?terror ?in the error of
life

as

human?

Mikhail, I had just come online and read your bit on What's New page and came straight in here to Collective Poems. My only complaint is that the book is too short!!! There are too few of your masterpieces here yet.

I have read as you requested and I really have enjoyed my ponder within your words here, and yes, they may be personal in nature and subject inspiration, but are so well composed that they should be posted on the main board, as many may identify with your thoughts, in certain respects. I like what you say in this...and how you say it.

The thought of stepping out of the ratraced war-zone of life and returning as bird or fish or anything which is independant (to a greater degree) of man's interference and influence on our destiny is appealing, and I agree...we do not need the superficial window-dressing in our passing. At most, just a commemorative note that we last lay there, should suffice, for those who wish some tangible evidence. (I know when I go, the place I would most wish to remain (with my best flying high, lol) is in someone's heart)

Please post this, Mikhail, where others may also pass comment, Zy
