Arc of A moonlit Smile (revised)
How long did it take, the arc of the moon to light the bridge of your smile?
How soon will the whispers of distant winds, brush your frozen cheeks in memory?
Were words were left spoken?
Snatched and stolen on its breezes?
Did you diligently travel to your destination of hope?
Or did the journey overtake you on the walkways of yesterdays dispair?
Are their avenues of longing,
treelined in springblossom yet to be explored,
before the darling buds of summertime are forgotten?
Do you ponder in the half light at the features of your past lover?
Experience his ache that he left, within your heart ,on his departure?
Do you still fill the hole with memories re-lived ,not moving forward
or is the space now buried and the new flower taking bloom?.
In the ruins of the silent day
between the Ivy on the crumbling wall.
Is the sunlight dappled grass
still as fragrant as you step, beyond the painting of yourself?
Is the creation of the soul nearer to completion?
Or merely stalled in its fruition or on enlightenments pathway?
Do your angels speak in tongue at the foothead of your bedstead
in the language of the loved.
Or is the darkness of the day leaving you blind in brightness of its gloom?
Is the arc of tonights moon
just a feature in the pages?
Of the chapters down the ages?
Of the spirits and the demons?
that we were
and are still to be?
