The day dawned softly
Creeping cautious
like a Cat burgler
In the garden
Sitting listening to the birds
My Dog & I
and a Jug of Coffee.
The very thought of you
Like a song in progress
tresspassed
like a welcome stranger
in to the room of reverie
and I'm distracted
following ghosts
with a wistful smile.
The clouds aspire to cotton like strands
stretched like floss
on a pale blue morning
and the mist lifts
leaving a pondorous dew
to leave the days first footsteps
& paw prints
on the lawns.
Composed and ready
The day begins
and spreads the blanket of its opportunity
Before me.
I think of those sweet strangers
I have never met
Whose words
we collect like
Butterflies beneath the columns of our prose.
To you I give my thanks and thoughts
In the hope that the day greets you as majestically
as I.
