The fabric of memories quilts my sadness in a patchwork coverlet shared with you. Faded by time, your face is etched on my mind and sewn in my heart by motherhood’s threads. This fine woven collage would have been trimmed with vibrant words and lined with laughter, given with love for your children’s children. Now all that remains, is a precious fragment, buried for ever, wrapped in my love; a silent heirloom.

I really enjoyed reading this Ann, I guess it's for tomorrows challenge. Nice one. Patchwork, quilting, weaving, all words I adore in poems, as they allow one to encompass so much, Zy |

hi Ann
Found it interesting to read the replies to your poem on the various forums. The strength in the poem for me is the personal voice that engages, touches the reader, draws them into an empathy.
