Zaziki, schrimps, one
unpolluted lemon ?a tin
of processed pig and a
shady smile of gammon
a rest of beans and
some cheese it seems
but he’s not sure

A Vin de ‘Ole that’s seen
better days, a bottle
of fine German Pils
an egg or two ?he
can’t quite tell
and spahgetti of course
for his ills

There’s a five pence piece
by the milk in the door
we’ve had the Euro
six years...more ?
He takes the beer
opens with trust -
tomorrow he’ll eat
if he must.

"cordon bleu"? aahhh...so that is what that unrecognisable cheesy stuff is/was? lol

Mmnnnn...they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomache, lol, but I am not sure f that includes the contents of his fridge, lb, nicely rhymed and paced, certainly 'does the job', lol, 'night, Zed (private joke, if anyone wonders)

Hmm....seems your fridge is far more interesting than mine. I don't think I could get a poem out of a box of Dairylea dunkers, a carton of orange juice and a Jaffa Cakes yoghurt? Must remember to stop being such a student and do some shopping!!

Really liked this Lb,

Sin

lol...thanks for the comments poets...weird where inspiration comes from sometimes....seems we have two schools of thought here....Emma and Sin finding it interesting what I have in my fridge and Zed and MIk getting rather worried.......which puts me in quite a spot......eat in or out ?....damn...maybe I'll just order a pizza....lol

"Gouda back in that fridge" he said
"get there in with the rest,
the vinigretted Chardonay
will put you to the test!
Brick hard bagette
and mouldy spread
will pass for fromage
with some vin and bread...
So don't you dare run away from me,
I have some Poets coming for tea!"
