Mikhail You have once again stunned me with your words. I was captured by this piece and couldnt stop reading right till the very end. You have bought a tear to my eye - especially with this part. The first time I read this piece as a single piece it blew me away and it hasnt failed to do so a second time. I must say though, one stanza which pulled at my heart strings was... though pitiful orphan neither pity in his grin his heart was of kings?boys i learned life from him Thank you as always for sharing this. I have read this piece many times, Mikhail, and listened to you read it often and shall never tire of it. What an amazing read...so graphic, Mikhail, so much insight and empathy. You may have gained much from Africa, but I think it also did from you. I'd like to do a feature page for this trilogy of yours, as it is unique and very special, thanks, Mikhail, Zy |

thanks so much Zy
they say - if you visit Africa you will leave a part of your heart there
instead
i took Africa - the entire continent - with me - in my heart- for my life
this piece adds closure to one encounter with one poor child - - imagine having all of Aftica to go
thanks yet again - and again, m |

I have read much and seen many shows about Afrika and it's many inhabitants in the different areas, some have made a great impression on my mind from a distance, Mikhail, and (to only a tiny degree) I can feel what your words are saying and understand how you now feel. Your words are a credit to your time and experiences there, thanks for sharing, Zy |

I have read this poem before too and now I too understand how it was written and conceived. I would love to come to Africa one day and your words need to be put in a special posting. I belong to ONE Campaign to fight aids and poverty in Africa. Wonderful work mon ami! |

thank you Dixie - if you ever went to Afrika and saw the tragic state of affairs with the women and children - part of your heart would stay there with the images burned permanently on the remaining parts - it is truely unforgettable
best, mikhail |

ah yes - a reminder
isha is a compilation of impoverished Afrikan children making up my memory of their plight - there is a female version of isha as well - which - i am now trying to write about ?the plight of all poor children there is sad ?but the girls have a particularly sometimes unappreciated aspect to their misery
the plight of all poor children 'round the world should be shouted to the top of our collective lungs and moved to the top of the world’s priorities concerning the expenditure of available resources
they are innocent ?never asked to be ?but they are ?and ?because of competing priorities ?we ?all of us ?watch them die in droves
every single night when i go to bed i wonder how many will perish this night
thanks to everyone for your interest in the children
best, m

I feel honoured to know you and read your words too. I would prolly want to bring all the children home with me. I love children sooo much! I graduate December 18th with my Master's in Education. Going to teach elementary. I am now working part-time as assistant. I told the school board to put me where I am needed in the inner city schools. The children are the innocent and we must not abandon them. I can only do a small part here. |
