epilogue

with your exquisite shutter
you showed me a world
i’ll ever hold onto
as clam holds its pearl

your verve shouted out courage
so life could be heard
you taught me ‘discourage?BR>is no longer a word

and that ‘poor?is wasted
on rich isha’s kind
as s/he’s ever richer, since
poor - is just one’s state of mind

thank you to all the isha’s of planet earth,
mikhail the trekker

Mikhail, I feel the need to ask you this question - why do your words always make me cry!? lol.

Once more, this is a beautiful piece.

to answer your question - i really do not know - but - it could be because i have cried so many tears - they may be dripping from my work becoming contagious - though i do hope not

you are most gracious dear Fluff - thank you

as a footnote dear friends - please know

?when i write ?i write novel-esque-type poetry ?going whereever the work takes me ?as an example; i have never been to the Congo ?never been on a safari ?never had folks carry my stuff ?and there is no single child named isha ?isha is a compilation of my experienced in S. Africa

what i have done: i have lived and worked in The Republic of S. Africa for 4-years ?i have seen abject poverty put-upon black and coloured folks there ?i have know some of the beautiful people of S. Africa caught in the cycle of poverty - including some of the children ?i have felt first hand the heart break of these little ones as they lost close relatives to aids and war ?and ?most of all ?i feel for them and honour them every chance i get with the meagure scribblings that i can do - to draw as much attention to the plight of these folks as i can

so ?there are not pictures of a safari ?none of isha ?none of trackers ?etc ?there are pictures (mostly on tape) of my time in S. Africa ?including footage of the squatter camps and the faces of those i attempt to honour with my work

so

please do not take my work too literally ?only part of it is based on what we all could say is ‘the truth?BR>
sorry ?if that is not good for you ?but ?it is good for me to tell these stories and to tell you the truth

keep well everyone,
m

Hello, Mikhail, thank you for that footnote (I can use that) it is so in keeping with exactly how I have perceived these pieces and others you have written about Afrika, memories, emotions and words so very from the heart.

I echo all that has already been said, you are indeed a special person, Mikhail, to transpose what lives in your heart and mind so graphically and with such feeling, is all one can ask and so much more than anyone could ever have expected of you, yes....Bravo, Dear Friend, I stand with the others, with tears in my eyes.

This thread has become one of the main highlights of my time spent keeping this corner alive and kicking, and I thank you for that also, Les x

Mikhail, what you speak of in your writing is the truth. You know why?  Because it is something you believe in, something you feel, something that you would like others to listen to and try to understand...

That voice which screams, cries, laugh and speaks through your words is a beautiful one - one that deserves to be listened to and is being heard.  Truth isn't always based on fact or what has actually happened, it is based on emotion, feeling, respect and particularly in my generation it is hard to find all 3 at once. Sometimes when I see people my age I question whether or not there ever was or ever will be again, something purely honest and innocent and beautiful. Your words are that Mikhail. You write about the things which matter most to you - no matter how raw or hard to swallow they may seem, you give people the opportunity and the reason to stop and think for a moment about the world and how we could make it better, about the suffering of others and to ask why such bad things happen and most of all you make us realise what we have as people, as individuals, as an equal if there ever was one.

Truth is a word of many descriptions in this life Mikhail, but you give it a brighter side. To me, truth is anything which sparks emotion with only good intensions and with that, you tick all the boxes.

Thank you,
Fluff x
