Squeal of tires, busted glass,
tangled front ends of horrid crash.
One car had not even a dent,
the other totaled, twisted and bent.
Chanting, screaming Hillary,
on both corners loud melee.
Shouting, holding signs in air,
horns a blasting without a care.
Sidewalks strewn with shards of glass,
sirens blaring, police cars blast.
Ambulance and firetruck too,
my neighborhood has become a zoo!
Treading carefully out to vote,
avoiding crowds and hazy smoke.
This reminds me of the Chicago riots,
deafening noise, when I desire quiet.

Crikey Dix, fancy that
Perhaps a Republican, and Democrat
They should save the crashes, for the TV
I should complain to Hillary

Great accounting of the madness that overtakes a crowd...sad really, it should be a joyous occasion...

A striking metaphor for the upcoming collision of Republicans and Democrats. Wouldn't it be nice,Dixie,if an Independent sneaked in to the White House and made a difference.

LOL Philip!  I am an Independent but noone is running in that category this election.  I do not belong to a party persay, but vote for whom I think is best.  Always have.  But, the politicians lie alot and never deliver on their promises once they get in.  So how do we choose?  The car crash really happened outside my apartment building while the people were campaigning.

A moment in time well captured, Dixie,

you painted the picture so well here.

I hate crowds...especially if paniced, Zy

Great poem, Dix. Politicians certainly know how to cause crashes, don't they? We've had our fair share of them too. One crash was so loud that it shook my house! I thought that we were having an earthquake! So I switched on the news...
...only to find that Tony Blair had caused it when he stood down as PM.

Now there was an almighty crash!
