No one knew

No one knew that
when they went to work
they would die that day

No one knew that
the world would never
be the same again

No one knew that
steel and glass towers
could not withstand intense heat

No one knew that
nineteen men could
change their lives forever

But they have...

This is such a sad poem, also a poignant reminder of the events of that day. I watched in horror as the events unfolded. I agree with Peter. At first, it looked like a scene from a disaster movie. I cried when I realised that it was actually happening.
A very powerful write.

You do justice to those brave men from that day
in a very concise piece, bear,
an excellent tribute and a great interpretation of the challenge genre, Zy

Nineteen men, evil written in their heart
Believing their God had set them apart
How can prophets and God be so misread?
That the innocent, all end up dead ?
Evil committed in some Gods name
I know not of God, but evil, is always the same.

I like the word change from 'their' to 'our', bear, it works better, I think anyways, Zy
