Back in the day,

we played jazz.

Reggie played bass like Stanley Clarke;

Greg played guitar like the John McLaughlin. 

It was a time of High heat and chemicals.

We changed to blues

Stacey sang Autumn Leaves

Whilst I dug out songs from Van Morrison 

and played rhythm guitar in smoky bars.

 

I remembered when First time I saw her

I sat in the audience 

I'd stolen my dad's pipe

and worked for 30 minutes trying to get it packed right,

 but it never did draw.
