He sits there, brooding
Enigmatic
Does he stare at the horizon
Or the hidden spaces
Of his own mind
Think of the past
Times long ago
Look to the future
Days yet to come,
What they hold
Does he know?

I would be surprised at that
As he sits there on the mat
My black Egyptian looking cat

The cat is the opposite of a dog, they conspire against us...

Enjoyed the read Jen...well done.

I live the aloof appearance and posture of Egyptian cats, Jen,

and you caught both in this concise piece very neatly, Zy

The wonderful inscrutability of cats!  I have an alabaster cat which I bought in Egypt and also having two live cats as well - I could see this so clearly
