nothing remains but memories
the old neighborhood has died
no trace of those who lived there
the school has been torn down
the row houses are a shambles
can't go there after dark
the cops won't even enter
the run down city park

Bear   I made the mistake of going back...tainted some good memories too..it took time to rebuild them..you capture the feeling of loss well ..because that is exactly what it is..loss of something good   only kept good in the memory..I am rambling on again...save to say I like your write..xx

Yes Don! This happens to everybody. Of course one cannot go back to the past. One has to try to do the best with the present one's got.
