She’s a bitch of course. Everyone knows that. It’s not like she’s a bad person, she has her morals ?it’s just that her morals are way, way past yours or mine. But I love her. Yeah, I know how pathetic that sounds. But before you start feeling sorry for me, allow me to explain a thing or two. Then, my friend ?you will love her too. I promise.
First of all, she’s gorgeous. If right now you are thinking..oh yeah...big deal....then you are way, way off the mark. I mean this girl is gorgeous as in everything a man ever dreams about when his wife isn’t looking. And that’s gorgeous. Vous comprende ?
Oui. You bet your ass you do. Trebien.
Gilbert is a pimp and being a pimp is not an easy job. He has cops to pay, rivals to keep at bay,a horde of inarticulate yet sassy girls to keep in line and as everyone knows, the market these days is absolutely ruined by those cheap east European exports.
The first time I met her I was up to my elbows in Gilbert’s blood and wondering why she seemed so unconcerned about the fact that I had just killed her boss. She had this smile. A smile that could draw any man’s attention from her perfect naked body up past her eager puppy-nosed breasts to her lips and if they dared ?to her eyes.
Mais oui.
Of course I fell in love.
Weeks past. She told me all about the debt she’d owed to Gilbert and how she had to work it off. For a while I hated her. But then she did that smile again and hey...you know moi...I’m a sucker for that sort of thing. So we sat naked together on the carpet of some lousy three star hotel and decided what we should do with our lives.
We both knew that Gibert was just a puppet and his death would not bring any tears to anyone on this planet. However, Gilbert had a Boss too, and he was not going to be happy about this at all. She and I knew we had the choice of running or fighting. And...you know moi....I don’t run.....

I have just found this, I do like this style of writing, lb, and you do it so well. As Mikhail says, just enough to enjoy as a short piece, but would like to see more, Zed |
