So many miles of tinsel are wrapped around the trees
Glittering stars and baubles dancing in the breeze
We stop and watch the lanterns flicker off and on
And gather up some snow with which to make our snowman from

Soon it will be Christmas, twelve days of fun and cheer
We'll celebrate together and then see in the New Year
I hope our clothes will stretch enough to cope with extra food
For there will be so many treats to eat while we are in the mood

Some warming drinks await us when the snowman has been made
Cocoa in mugs for the children thaws out fingers that have played
With snowballs as they laboured to build the best the could
Ours is bigger than the neighbours - well its every bit as good

This season of goodwill must allow for all to take their part
And bring some joy to everyone who has an open heart
Let's close by saying Thank You to all who helped to plan
The best of treats for all of us - every woman, child and man
