Prevailing Temperament

The prevailing winds of temperament
Guide my muse to green pastures where
I seek to stay and pitch my tent
Within which I'll sit and ponder ere

Some inner light brings words to set
Upon the pad I keep to hand
With ethereal thoughts that art my pets
Here on the good farmers land

All too soon the afternoon is past
Dampness creeps around me with night air
That gives me cause to light the gas
And have a blanket up to my hair

And as my muse meanders within my mind tonight
Will it bring some tales of ghostly spooks
That may give some readers a fright
Or maybe a description of how this gas stove cooks

For an instant can decide which way my pen will strive
To tell a tale of natures wonders
Perhaps an observation of an old bee hive
Nay likely sun will rise while it slowly ponders

But hark I hear an owl a hooting
As it sits below the moon
And so some thoughts start flowing
There will be a verse here soon........
